KC Tenants Tote Bag

In December of 2020, I had the pleasure of designing a tote bag for local activist group KC Tenants. They are an organization that focuses on fighting for equal, accessible housing for all in the greater Kansas City area. I, among other very talented BIPOC creatives, was commisioned to design this tote for their holiday merchandise drop. The proceeds of these objects go towards providing equipment to protect and sustain organizers during protests, as well as people who have/are being evicted.
My goal for this design was to celebrate BIPOC resilience and depict the strength and love that exists within community. I just so happened to be listening to Biggie Smalls while creating this, so it felt right to incorporate some of his lyrics into it. “It’s all good, baby, baby” is used to say “I got your back and you have mine.” There is strength in numbers. I'm thankful for every opportunity I receive to create work that makes a positive change in my community!

You may purchase this tote bag and other merchandise on KC Tenants’ website at https://kctenants.org/merch. NEXT:
