The Hairitage Museum

The Hairitage Museum is a hypothetical museum that celebrates the history, the diversity, and the beauty of Afro-textured hair. This was beyond my favorite assignment for my Spatial Design class and perhaps my favorite project from my senior year at KCAI. The premise of the assignment was to choose an object from everyday life and center an entire museum around it.
My object of choice was the hair pick. The ancient history, cultural symbolism and significance, and the personal connection I have with
the Afro pick made it the most ideal choice. We were responsible for determining and designing the core identity, brand guidelines, gallery map, and spatial elevations for this assignment. Getting back in touch with my interior design roots was very fulfulling! This project allowed my love for my hair, for my culture, and for spatial/experience design
to flourish.
